Browsing through the archives, looking for a good sky photo (it’s been gray lately) I found this one. It was taken on a very cold January day, but the sky was so brilliant! Happy Skywatch Friday to all.

This adorably pink ground cover was growing at Whitney Nursery and Garden over in Brinnon, WA. A delightful wander over 7 acres, on the Hood Canal. For more pink visions, visit Beverly’s Pink Saturday.

Last week on that sunny day even the water looked good. Puget Sound may be too cold for swimming, but it looked so lovely reflecting the blue sky. For more water interpretations around the world, click HERE.

It’s actually not that easy to take a photo of just green things and have it look good, no matter how wonderful the real place was. I’ve tried many times, believe me. Here’s one I like for you to contemplate, also taken at the Portland Japanese Garden.

It might even look good in black and white or sepia. All right, which do you like better? I think I like the green one best.

These koi were at the Portland Japanese Garden. An truly spectacular place, and soon it will really be coming into its spring wonder. I totally recommend it. Just wait until the azaleas bloom.

This was taken at a campground near Mt. Ranier in Washington state. There were floods later on which roared through this area and it may not be possible to camp here any more.

I’m trying something new. I took a video, my very first, of the creek because it sounded so wonderful and with these newfangled digital cameras, you can. Here’s a red post for you, all out of season I know, but still worth a look on a gray day like today. Actually, it’s snowing right now, but supposed to melt later but stay cloudy. Thus my interest in something colorful.

I keep looking at the photos I’ve taken in Arizona when I think of shadows. This time I’m including a zoomed-out one so you see what this place is like. Jerome, Arizona is a neat, touristy but artsy town way up in the hills a few hours north of Phoenix. Since there are ruins I figure the town’s been there awhile. The middle photo is a restored tin ceiling in a cafe. And the bottom one is the real shadow shot, taken about a week before the solstice and pretty far south, so that shadow is dark and short. It’s so gray and rainy now, I crave the bright days of summer. This was taken in June at a neat little garden South of Seattle. Go visit it if you are in the neighborhood.
